About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring and patrolling the hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees while protecting hotel assets. This role involves maintaining a secure environment through protective and enforcement functions, responding to emergencies, and managing disturbances in a courteous manner. The position requires physical activity, including foot patrols and the ability to handle various security-related tasks effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior law enforcement or military experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the hotel layout and surrounding areas.
• Ability to effectively deal with customers, requiring patience and diplomacy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
• Proficient in operating a computer, printer, copier, and telephone.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a security role or customer service position.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and fire prevention.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol hotel property to ensure safety and security.
• Perform foot patrols of the hotel interior and perimeter to identify potential risks.
• Respond to emergencies and assist guests with safety issues, such as door lock problems.
• Handle violations of hotel policy and civil laws to maintain order.
• Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls, responding based on priority.
• Document incident information accurately and legibly.
• Memorize and monitor the layout of the building and life safety systems.
• Receive, record, and store lost and found items, responding to guest inquiries.
• Escort guests and employees to parking lots as required.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, following safety and security rules.
• Assist Front Desk Personnel when needed.
