As a Security Guard - Government Center - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks when needed, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 or more months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and/or requesting assistance from site leadership and local responders when needed.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify credentials when required, and follow visitor management processes to support orderly entry and/or exit.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and unusual activity in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate observations to Allied Universal management and site representatives.
