About The Position

The Security Guard position at Hiland Dairy Foods Company is responsible for providing security and loss prevention at the manufacturing facility by following established procedures. This includes patrolling the property on foot or in a vehicle, monitoring the activities of visitors, contractors, vendors, and employees, and ensuring compliance with security and safety regulations, including state private security regulations. The guard will also assist plant management with internal investigations when directed, check and record temperatures in the plant, boiler room, and on Thermo King trailers, and contact maintenance if limits are not met. Additional duties involve documenting inbound and outbound appointments, performing groundskeeping and trash removal, and alerting employees of tornadoes when conditions exist.

Requirements

Completion of all security training courses as required by the facility within the first 30 days of employment.
Must have or obtain a Private Officer license Class B.
Ability to obtain current certification in Red Cross or similar First Aid and CPR/AED training.
Ability to operate company vehicle.
Ability to review, analyze, and interpret documents, communicate effectively in written and verbal form, and to solve problems.
Working knowledge of computer, Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets and ability to type effectively and grammatically correct.
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years job-related experience preferred.
Two years peace officer or four years military police experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides security and loss prevention at manufacturing facility through established procedures.
Patrols property via foot or vehicular patrol as needed and monitors activities of visitors, contractors, vendors, and employees (Approach anyone in the plant you are not sure of).
Ensures compliance with security and safety regulations to include state private security regulations.
Assists when directed by plant management with internal investigations.
Check & record all temperatures found in the plant and boiler room and on Themo King on trailers out back with fuel level, when not within limits contact maintenance.
Help document the inbound and outbound appointments.
Groundskeeping, trash removal.
Alert employees of tornadoes when conditions exist.
