About The Position

The didgwálic Wellness Center is seeking a friendly and professional Security Guard to join our team for our Transitional Living location in Laconner WA. This is an essential role as you will work to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our residents and staff. Aside from having prior experience as a security guard, the ideal candidate is professional, courteous, and has great customer service. In this role you will get to know our patients and have positive interactions with them when they come in for their outpatient visits. Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Possess a valid Washington State Drivers license and meet eligibility requirements for tribal insurance.
  • 2+ years of experience as a security guard or relevant position i.e. military experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment.
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Basic computer and software experience using MS Office products.
  • Must be in good physical condition to respond to potential security and safety concerns. A significant portion of the workday is standing or walking.
  • Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Ability to pass extensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol and monitor grounds, parking lots, buildings, security entryways and exits.
  • Respond to all alarms and contact law enforcement, fire department or an ambulance in case of an emergency.
  • Interact with law enforcement officers when needed; provide information and clarification of events.
  • Before and after business hours, checks doors and windows, to ensure the property is secure.
  • Investigate reports of suspicious activity on the property.
  • Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
  • Provide non-violent physical crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to neutralize extreme situations and mitigate negative outcomes.
  • Provide crowd control in the event of an influx of patients and/or visitors.
  • Write incident reports on daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized personnel, and clients as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Manager.
  • Operate different passenger vans over defined transportation routes.
  • Operate other company vehicles when transporting clients as necessary.
  • Conduct and supervise urine and saliva drug screen samples and administer breathalyzers from clients of the same gender in accordance with established procedures for substance abuse testing protocols.
  • Monitor and detect any potential device or substance used to interfere with the drug test during the collection of the sample while adhering to strict confidentiality.
  • Quickly and accurately record and process specimens, ensuring all relevant information is accurate, collection procedures are followed, while always maintaining chain of custody.
  • Assist and address all client concerns and questions regarding the drug, urinary and breathalyzer screen.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of testing supplies and submits order requests to replenish the supplies in a timely manner.
