About The Position

The Security Guard is responsible for the safety and security of our staff, patients and visitors and protecting them from workplace violence. As a Security Guard they will perform a variety of duties relating to the security of the facility during the shift. They will also maintain effective interaction with the public and hospital personnel.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• California Driver's License required.
• State of California Guard Card required or must be obtained prior to starting work.
• Problem solver
• Able to improvise and troubleshoot problems
• Good communicator
• Ability to stay calm in intense situations

Responsibilities

• Responds appropriately to security codes and contact outside Emergency Personnel when appropriate.
• Answer alarms/calls and investigate disturbances.
• Monitors entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons during the night shift to guard and maintain security of premises.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors.
• Staffs a weapons detection checkpoint at the main hospital entrance.
• Complete work orders that include checking doors, and emergency exits and lighting for deficiencies.
