As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy education location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, assist students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, and communicate concerns clearly. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, and the surrounding perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations to the appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency response resources.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with evacuations, crowd control, and/or medical response coordination as directed.
  • Complete required incident reports, activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate observations and/or concerns to supervisors and site leadership.
