Job Description As a Security Officer – Hospital Patient Patrol in Pittsburgh, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will be visible throughout the facility, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to various situations with professionalism and integrity, all while upholding our core values of teamwork, reliability, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • Vaccinations are required for work in hospital environments.
  • Applicants must be able to work in or around hospital morgue areas.
  • Applicants must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting as required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a healthcare environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter potential security-related concerns and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the location.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, suspicious activities, and/or hazards according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate, including guiding individuals during evacuations or other urgent situations.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors to address questions and provide direction as needed.
