As a Security Officer - Full Time Evenings in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and support visitor logs and badging. You will stay visible, watch for unusual activity, and communicate concerns to site leaders to help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Control access at entry points within an industrial location by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, managing visitor and contractor check-in, and maintaining required access logs.
  • Monitor access control systems and/or video surveillance, report irregular activity, and help to deter unauthorized entry and property loss.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, production-adjacent corridors, and the perimeter, while completing required reports and observations.
