About The Position

The Josselyn security role requires proactive observation skills to maintain a safe and professional workplace for Josselyn employees, visitors, and clients. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the security guard is responsible for monitoring security cameras and general building security.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required
• Minimum 2 years experience in security
• Basic knowledge of security systems and emergency procedures
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency and stressful situations
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Will be required to work outdoors and indoors during inclement weather

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)
• Minimum 1 year experience in behavioral health services, preferred

Responsibilities

• Monitor building access including flow of visitors and clients as they enter and exit the building ensuring security protocols are followed
• Perform security patrols of exterior and interior of the building including providing end-of-shift security support by accompanying employees to the parking lot
• Respond to accidents and emergencies, maintaining the safety of clients and employees.
• Register client’s license plate numbers upon arrival for parking validation confirmation
• Monitor and oversee CCTV cameras and alarm systems
• Report safety hazards, suspicious activity or security concerns/breaches to appropriate internal personnel and authorities as applicable
• Participate in cross-departmental communication with the Clinical Director for the Waukegan site, Facilities, and the Safety Committee
• Assist in the implementation of security policies and procedures including responding to alarms and incidents ensuring appropriate action is taken
• Provide assistance and general information to clients and visitors including assistance to clients and visitors with special needs
