Job Description As a Security Guard - Utilities Access Control in Hicksville, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Requirements
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Control access to the location by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
- Assist visitors, employees, and contractors by providing directions and information in a professional and courteous manner.
- Monitor security-related systems such as cameras and alarms to identify and report unusual activities or security-related incidents.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of access logs, incidents, and daily activities as required by site-specific policies.
- Collaborate with local emergency services and Allied Universal management in the event of emergencies or drills.
- Follow all site-specific policies and procedures, adapting to the unique requirements of the utilities environment.
