As a Security Guard - Unarmed Roving Rounds in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a fast-paced tech and telecom location. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and document security-related activity using a computer or tablet, helping to deter incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. You will greet visitors, support badge and access control processes, and deliver customer service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Experience using access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities as directed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, suspicious activity, and/or service requests, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter lines, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and badge or visitor logs, and report irregularities according to site procedures.
- Complete detailed reports and documentation of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates during shift handoff and/or to site contacts.
