As a Security Guard - Unarmed Rover Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a high-tech aerospace and defense location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, support access control, and document security-related activity while providing strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. At Allied Universal, you will be part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production areas, parking lots, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or irregular conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, assist with visitor processing, and/or direct individuals to the appropriate check-in locations per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, reports of suspicious activity, and/or medical and fire-related events, and communicate with site contacts as needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written and/or electronic reports, and notify supervision and/or site representatives of noteworthy activity per post orders.
