As an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will provide top-tier customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while supporting a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers and tenants. This post requires a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal driver policy requirements, and a team-first mindset grounded in integrity.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to property management and/or public responders as required by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail common areas, parking areas, loading and service corridors, and the perimeter to help discourage unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and high-traffic zones, assist with wayfinding, and help support crowd and/or queue management during peak shopping hours and special events.
- Complete detailed reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate pertinent information during shift briefings and/or handoff to the next officer.
