As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot patrols of sales floors, entrances, and parking areas, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to guest and team member concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations, report issues promptly, and support a caring, people-first culture through teamwork, integrity, and an agile, reliable approach.
Requirements
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disorderly conduct, suspected theft, and medical or fire-related alarms as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout sales floors, back rooms, receiving areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or hazard concerns for reporting.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas, observing for policy violations and suspicious behavior, and assisting with access control and/or crowd management during peak shopping periods.
- Complete detailed reports on shift activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as required.
