About The Position

As a Security Guard - Unarmed Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to reduce incidents. You will support access control and badge checks, respond to alarms and/or service requests, document observations, and deliver customer-focused communication while working as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that leads with integrity.

Requirements

• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting de-escalation and coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points and interior activity, verify authorization when required, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns through approved reporting channels.
• Complete timely incident reports, shift logs, and other documentation, and communicate relevant updates during shift handoff to support continuity of security-related operations.
