Job Description As a Security Guard - Unarmed - Full Time in Chicago, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a fast-paced tech and media location. You will conduct routine interior and exterior patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. Working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first, you will document activities, report issues promptly, and help maintain a welcoming environment through integrity and teamwork.

Requirements

• Client requires proof of high school diploma/GED.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed at a tech-focused location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or hazard concerns.
• Monitor access points and common areas, verify credentials when required, and assist with visitor check-in and/or direction to authorized destinations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events, notifying appropriate contacts, and coordinating with responders as directed.
• Operate security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels, and complete detailed reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation per site requirements.
