As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol buildings, walkways, and common areas to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter incidents, assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and information, and document activities clearly. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting campus partners and/or public emergency services when needed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, common areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas, verifying credentials and/or guest access requirements in accordance with site policies.
- Document patrol activity, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate timely updates to the supervisor and site contacts.
