As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a leading education location, you will walk and patrol buildings and grounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support students, faculty, and visitors with courteous service. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and respond to alarms and requests for assistance. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Support access control by monitoring entrances, checking identification when required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations in accordance with site policies.
  • Document patrol observations, incidents, and service requests in written and/or electronic reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision.
