About The Position

As a Security Guard - Telecom Access Control Patrol in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech / Media / Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading technology location, you will play a key role in monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, managing access control points, and providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff. You will utilize technology to support access control and badge procedures, while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and innovation. Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with security-related inquiries and directions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the business and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any suspicious activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as directed, maintaining communication with Allied Universal management and site contacts.
  • Maintain a visible presence at access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and promote a secure environment within the location.
