About The Position

As a Security Guard - Telecom Access Control Patrol in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech / Media / Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading technology location, you will play a key role in monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, managing access control points, and providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff. Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized individuals in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with security-related inquiries and directions.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report any suspicious activity, security-related incidents, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with emergency response activities as directed, maintaining communication with Allied Universal management and site contacts.
• Maintain a visible presence at access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and promote a secure environment within the location.
