As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols of buildings, walkways, and common areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and work with campus partners, bringing an agile, reliable, and innovative approach grounded in teamwork and integrity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities for an education location.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner; document actions taken and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
- Monitor entrances, interior corridors, and high-traffic areas for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
- Complete accurate patrol logs, incident reports, and shift turnover communications; support campus events with presence, directions, and coordination with site contacts.
