Job Description As a Security Guard - Roving Foot Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff and residents with professional customer service, clear communication, and accurate reports, while using Allied Universal tools and technology as needed. Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disruptive behavior and requesting additional assistance when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter, to help to deter prohibited activity and identify maintenance or policy concerns.
• Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization as required, and directing visitors and deliveries according to site procedures.
• Complete patrol and incident documentation, communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal management, and support orderly operations during shift change and special situations.
