As a Security Guard - Retail Mall in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will support a welcoming environment through teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach while interacting with shoppers, guests, and store personnel throughout your shift.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shopping center, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, high-traffic areas, and/or exterior spaces to help support location rules, observe suspicious behavior, and report security-related issues.
• Assist with crowd management, directional support, and/or general public assistance during peak business hours, special events, and other busy periods at the location.
