About the position
The Security Guard (PRN) at Western Missouri Medical Center is responsible for ensuring a secure and safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors. This role involves patrolling the hospital campus, assisting with parking needs, controlling entrances and exits, and responding to safety and security issues. The Security Guard provides personal escorts and routine security services while promoting safety and addressing any potential threats to personal well-being or property.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interior and exterior rounds to protect property and staff.
- Observe for safety and security issues, theft, and monitor parking lots.
- Promote visitor and employee safety through door checks and lighting deficiency detection.
- Confirm proper operation of elevators and assist with disruptive individuals.
- Respond to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel.
- Provide professional customer service in complex situations and identify safety hazards.
- Complete incident reports and shift logs, forwarding them to appropriate individuals.
- Provide maintenance assistance through property conservation and campus safety approaches.
- Maintain a security presence in the building to deter suspicious activity.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of working experience in the security industry.
- Current BLS certification.
- Valid CPI Certification or equivalent (preferred).
