About The Position

As a Security Guard - Perimeter Patrol Rounds in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government ferry location as an unarmed patrol officer, performing routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and supporting orderly operations. You will greet and assist commuters and staff, communicate clearly, and document observations and incidents. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Have a TSA issued TWIC.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminal areas, passenger queuing spaces, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and/or hazards.
  • Monitor access points and support controlled entry by verifying credentials and/or directing visitors, vendors, and employees to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management and/or coordinating with on-site personnel and public agency partners.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal supervision and site management.
