About The Position

As a Security Guard Patrol Sentinel in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will deliver outstanding customer service and communication while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location serving vulnerable populations.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, maintenance issues, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and help support orderly movement of staff, residents, guests, and/or service providers.
  • Assist with de-escalation, follow post orders and incident protocols, and communicate with public agencies and/or first responders when situations require additional support.
