Job Description As a Security Guard - Patrol Driver - Weekdays in Santa Clara, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed driving patrol officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and a customer-first approach. You will document observations, support access control and visitor needs, and collaborate with site teams. Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology workplace location.
  • Control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying credentials, logging arrivals and departures, issuing temporary badges when authorized, and directing visitors to approved destinations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, alarms, disputes, and suspicious activity, and request additional support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, labs, parking areas, loading docks, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access control systems, intrusion alarms, and video surveillance equipment when assigned, and report observed issues for maintenance and/or follow-up.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, including incident documentation, patrol observations, and follow-up actions, using required reporting systems.
  • Assist with emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place events, and severe weather protocols as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Provide customer service focused directions and general assistance, including escorting visitors to check-in points and supporting controlled delivery and pickup processes.
  • Support protection of company property by checking doors, gates, and critical areas for signs of forced entry and/or unsecured conditions, and notifying site contacts when issues are found.
  • Work closely with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership to communicate observations, support operational needs, and maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
