About The Position

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part-Time Security Guard Patrol Badge Specialist in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves serving and safeguarding clients in industries such as Government. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you will have the flexibility to build your own schedule using the Claim a Shift platform. The position focuses on monitoring and patrolling assigned government areas, maintaining visibility to deter security incidents, and supporting access awareness through strong customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or public agencies when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and verify entry permissions in accordance with site rules, while documenting visitor activity, unusual conditions, and/or security-related concerns.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports on incidents, patrol activity, and observed issues, and communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or members of the public.
