As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and visitor flow, and respond to calls for assistance with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and help create a welcoming experience. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal and location-specific security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter zones, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas during patrols, help to deter unauthorized entry, and report hazards, unusual activity, and policy violations through required communication channels.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in daily reports and/or incident reports, and assist with shift briefings and handoffs to support continuity of operations.
