As an unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related issues. You will support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of concerns. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal site-specific policies, access procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate contacts and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance and policy concerns.
  • Monitor entrances and common areas for security-related concerns, assist with visitor check-in processes as assigned, and/or help direct people to appropriate offices or resources.
  • Complete security-related reports and documentation, communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership, and support follow-up actions based on site procedures.
