As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government health and family services location, you will welcome visitors, conduct entry screening and access control, and help identify potential security-related concerns. You will complete routine patrols, stay visible to help deter incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government health and human services location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen individuals entering the facility by following established access control and screening protocols, directing visitors to appropriate check-in points, and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
  • Monitor entrances, waiting areas, and other assigned areas for unusual activity, policy violations, and/or unauthorized access, and document observations per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing clear directions, requesting assistance, and supporting first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter as assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
