The position involves patrolling district buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal activity. The individual will conduct patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure, and check daily to ensure that all doors are open/closed and that all panic hardware is functioning properly during building occupancy hours. The role requires confronting unauthorized persons for questioning, routing or detaining them, and/or calling local police for assistance. Additionally, the individual will patrol school grounds to ensure proper usage of all playing fields by authorized groups only, report any unusual conditions or malfunctions of heating, air conditioning, plumbing, or electrical systems, and make written reports. The position also involves issuing visitor passes, assisting authorized visitors with directions, assuming traffic and parking lot responsibilities as assigned, assisting law enforcement officers as directed, monitoring various areas of school grounds and buildings using security cameras, and operating a school motor vehicle in the performance of duties.
