About The Position

As a Security Guard - Overnight Patrol Officer in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet and assist staff and visitors, observe and report unusual activity, and communicate clearly with site leadership and emergency responders. Requirements

Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the facility, exterior areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Monitor access points and interior common areas, observe for unusual conditions, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior according to post orders.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional support from site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
Complete detailed reports and logs, document incidents and patrol activity, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and/or handoffs.
