About The Position

As a Security Guard - NYS Licensed Patrol in East Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document observations using site technology. You will communicate clearly with employees, visitors, and leadership while providing customer service and rapid support when issues arise. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid training is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and facility personnel by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout production areas, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Monitor access points and control entry for employees, contractors, and visitors by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing arrivals to the proper check-in procedures.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to site contacts and emergency services as required.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, documenting patrol findings, access control activity, and security-related concerns per Allied Universal requirements.
