About The Position

As a Security Guard - Media Studio Patrol in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and support a welcoming experience through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A Guard Card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site occupants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout a technology office, campus, and/or warehouse environment, including interior spaces, entrances, loading areas, and perimeter routes, to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and visitor traffic, verify authorization as required by post orders, and direct employees, vendors, and guests to appropriate locations.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations, and promptly notify site leadership and/or appropriate responders based on incident type.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing clear instructions to site occupants and assisting with evacuation and/or shelter procedures when directed.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, gates, alarms, cameras, and other security-related equipment, and report malfunctions and/or maintenance needs through established channels.
  • Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and log entries with accurate details, including times, locations, and actions taken.
  • Support security-related screening and delivery protocols as assigned, including monitoring dock activity, verifying delivery documentation, and coordinating with operations staff.
  • Communicate professionally with Allied Universal leadership, client representatives, and local emergency services as needed, using radios, phones, and written documentation.
