About The Position

As a Security Guard - Licensed Unarmed Patrol Post in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will assist with access points, observe and document activity, communicate clearly with staff and residents, and respond professionally to situations as they arise. Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• At least 6+ months of security experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, residents, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter prohibited activity and identify maintenance and/or policy concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, assist with visitor processing, and help to maintain orderly movement through lobbies, corridors, and common areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting additional assistance when needed.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in written reports and logs, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or responding personnel.
