About The Position

The Security Guard III position is responsible for the security of and access control to Air National Guard facilities and compounds in conjunction with the current Force Protection Condition (FPCON). This role requires the individual to be a Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) certified Armed Security Officer. The position is full-time and includes various responsibilities such as monitoring facility access, conducting identification checks, and ensuring the safety and security of the installation.

Requirements

• Eighteen months of experience in security or law enforcement work.
• Possess a current Armed Security Guard License through CLEET.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and give clear directions.
• Knowledge of routine security practices and supervisory principles.
• Ability to evaluate emergency situations effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a secure residential facility.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control access to facility by verifying identity and purpose of individuals seeking entrance.
• Provide identification checks at gate entrance and maintain logs of all visitors.
• Monitor facility using video camera systems, alarms, and personal inspections.
• Physically check doors and vaults to ensure they are locked.
• Perform identification checks and vehicle searches.
• Deny entrance to unauthorized individuals.
• Prepare documentation and daily logs for incidents or security violations.
• Develop shift rotations and manage key control programs.
• Assist with the development and implementation of staff training programs.
