About The Position

The Security Guard I position is responsible for providing access control and facility security for NAS Fallon Centroid and Fleet Tactical Training Range facilities. The role involves monitoring radio communications, observing vehicle traffic, verifying visitor access, conducting regular perimeter and building checks, and ensuring the safekeeping of facilities and equipment. The guard will also be responsible for maintaining access logs, communicating with guard posts, and developing emergency incident response procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years' experience in military or Industrial Security.
  • Six months' experience in administrative, technical, clerical, military or other work involving written procedures and rules.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Six months' experience in property protection against hazards such as fire, theft, and damage.
  • Capable of comprehending and implementing instructions concerning mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to perform in a professional manner and maintain a neat appearance.
  • Possess a valid state Driver's License.
  • US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide access control and facility security for NAS Fallon Centroid and Fleet Tactical Training Range facilities.
  • Carry out instructions to ensure emergencies and security violations are reported to appropriate authorities.
  • Monitor radio communications to maintain range access records.
  • Observe vehicle traffic and validate facility entrance requirements.
  • Verify visitor access and maintain visitor control log.
  • Issue visitor badges and verify escort requirements as necessary.
  • Conduct regular perimeter and building checks.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and facilities.
  • Control building access and perform physical security checks.
  • Maintain current access roster and log of personnel entering or leaving facilities.
  • Communicate with guard posts and roving patrols.
  • Develop and maintain emergency incident and response procedures.
  • Report accidents and incidents.
  • Visually check vehicles entering restricted areas for unauthorized items.
  • Assist in annotating roving patrol personnel in Job Control absence.
  • Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
