Job Description As a Security Guard - Healthcare Screener - Day Shifts in Tampa, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will welcome patients, visitors, and staff, support entry screening and access control, and provide clear, calm communication at the front entrance. You will remain visible, conduct routine rounds of nearby areas as needed, and document security-related observations to help reduce incidents. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will serve with a caring culture, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct entrance screening activities such as greeting arrivals, confirming authorization to enter, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in and/or service areas.
  • Monitor entrances and public areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized access, and promptly communicate concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and coordinating with clinical staff and/or emergency services when requested.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document screening results and incident details, and maintain clear communication during shift turnover.
