About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Unarmed Patrols in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for all visitors and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal guidelines and site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control, monitoring entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to maintain a positive environment at the location.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports as directed by Allied Universal and site management.
