About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Site - Rover in Arverne, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location in New York City. You will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations with clear, professional communication. You will assist staff and visitors with directions and service-minded support while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity in every interaction.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting onsite leadership and/or public emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working conditions may vary by post.
  • Monitor entrances, secure areas, and pedestrian traffic flow by observing activity, directing visitors to proper locations, and verifying authorization when required by post orders.
  • Complete written reports and log entries for patrols, incidents, and unusual activity, and communicate updates to supervisors and/or client representatives in a timely manner.
