About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Site - Rover in Arverne, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location in New York City. You will conduct routine foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document observations with clear, professional communication. You will assist staff and visitors with directions and service-minded support while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity in every interaction.

Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
Be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting onsite leadership and/or public emergency services when needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working conditions may vary by post.
Monitor entrances, secure areas, and pedestrian traffic flow by observing activity, directing visitors to proper locations, and verifying authorization when required by post orders.
Complete written reports and log entries for patrols, incidents, and unusual activity, and communicate updates to supervisors and/or client representatives in a timely manner.
