About The Position

As a Security Guard - Government Facility Unarmed Specialist in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. Requirements

A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a secure environment within the government location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
Maintain detailed and accurate activity logs and incident reports in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.
Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and members of the public while upholding site policies and guidelines.
Support access control processes and monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
