Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor resident and visitor activity within the location, assist with de-escalation when needed, and communicate with site contacts regarding policy-related issues and/or behavioral concerns.
  • Support a respectful environment by following shelter location procedures, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and helping to deter unauthorized access, loitering, and/or disruptions.
