About The Position
As a Security Guard - Gatehouse Driver in La Porte, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will staff an access control post, greeting employees and visitors, verifying credentials, managing entry logs, and monitoring activity to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with site teams, support incident reporting, and may conduct routine patrols as needed. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and it values integrity, teamwork, and a caring, agile approach.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- A TSA issued TWIC is required.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
- Staff access control points to check identification, verify authorization, issue visitor credentials, and direct employees, contractors, and deliveries according to site requirements.
- Monitor entry and exit activity, maintain access logs and key and/or badge control documentation, and report irregularities per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and assisting with on-site response procedures as directed.
- Support security-related screening and traffic flow at gates and checkpoints, helping to deter unauthorized access while maintaining a professional presence.
