About The Position

As a Security Guard - Gatehouse Screening in Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor activity through computer-based systems. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial processing location.
• Staff access control points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and/or exit authorization, and maintaining required logs and documentation.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and communications systems; report irregular activity and/or maintenance concerns through established channels.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and coordinating with onsite personnel and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas such as gates, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
