Job Description As a Security Guard - Full-Time Logistics Patrol in Chesapeake, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will greet drivers and team members with professional customer service, support site procedures at entrances and key zones, document observations, and communicate clearly with operations and leadership. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of warehouses, dock doors, trailer yards, parking areas, and perimeter fencing; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor access points such as guard shacks and entry gates by checking identification, managing visitor and driver check-in, and directing deliveries and pickups according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, and property damage, and notify appropriate personnel as required.
- Complete routine logs and incident reports, use radios and/or phones to communicate with operations staff, and observe camera systems when assigned to help identify unusual activity.
