As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet employees and visitors, and maintain accurate access logs. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols around assigned areas as needed, and communicate clearly with site teams to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • A TSA Issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, contractors, employees, and/or visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at an industrial chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Operate access control posts by verifying identity, reviewing credentials, managing badge issuance and/or retrieval, logging entries and exits, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate checkpoints.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with site contacts and dispatch, and documenting actions taken according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas including gates, processing areas, tank farms, loading and unloading zones, and perimeter lines to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Complete required reports such as shift logs, incident reports, and access records, and report hazards, equipment issues, and/or unusual conditions to site leadership per policy.
