As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors. You will document activity and support site procedures while delivering customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a DCJS license in Virginia only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties with a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity; conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, parking areas, and the perimeter as assigned.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, dispatching appropriate resources, and coordinating with clinical staff and law enforcement as directed.
  • Control access to restricted areas by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in, and/or screening deliveries according to site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and security-related activities; maintain issued equipment and firearms in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies and applicable laws.
