As an armed patrol officer at a fast-paced healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with professional customer service, document activity, and partner with your team. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility disturbances, visitor management concerns, and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access points by monitoring doors, gates, and restricted areas, verifying authorization as required, and assisting with wayfinding and/or directing individuals to appropriate hospital resources.
  • Complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol activities, and/or unusual conditions, and communicate updates to site leadership, Allied Universal supervision, and/or local responders as needed.
