Job Description As a Security Guard - Fire Watch in Gibsonton, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a critical utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and support daily operations with clear communication and customer service. In this role, you will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative approach to a caring culture that puts people first, delivering through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at utility locations.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying identification, managing badges and/or keys as directed, and documenting entries, exits, and deliveries.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazardous conditions, and report observations per site protocols.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other utility site systems as assigned, respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify supervision and/or local responders when needed.
  • Complete thorough reports of incidents, patrol activity, and maintenance-related observations, and support outage, construction, and contractor work activities through escorts and communications as directed.
