About The Position

As a Security Guard - Entry Control Post in Malvern, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading financial location where you will manage access control, verify credentials, issue badges, and track visitor activity using computer and/or tablet tools. You will remain visible at key entry points, communicate professionally with staff and guests, and support prompt response to security-related concerns. This is an armed post requiring Act 235 qualification, backed by a caring culture that values integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have an Act 235 qualification for Pennsylvania only.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and access control protocols at a financial services location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, managing visitor registration, issuing and collecting badges and/or credentials, and directing authorized persons to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor security-related systems and activity at entrances and controlled areas, including alarms, cameras, and door status indicators, and document unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal contacts and/or emergency services as directed by procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, identify hazards, and report maintenance or policy concerns through required logs and notifications.
